Vision

Within the next five years, the Faculty of Economics aims to establish itself as a standardized and academically prestigios faculty at both national and regional levels, grounded in Islamic and national values. This aim will be achieved through the development of professional human capital, optimal utilization of existing resources, implementation of an approved contemporary curriculum, and the enhancement of academic and research programs.

Mission

The Faculty of Economics, through its professional human resources, contemporary curriculum, academic and research programs and the effective utilization of available resources, aims to provide competent and skilled graduates equipped with Islamic and national values, capable of serving in the fields of business, administration, finance, and banking to the nation.

Faculty of Economics

The Faculty of Economics was established in 1398 (Solar Hijri) within the framework of Laghman University. In order to organize the administrative and academic affairs of the faculty, and based on the decision of the leadership of the university presidency, Pohandmal Shah Mahmood Afghan was nominated and appointed as the dean by the then administration. Later, Abdul Naser Qasemi was appointed through an open competition as the executive manager, along with one service staff member.

From the date (1402/3/4), Pohanyar Wais Al-Hadi Oryakhil, based on the (necessity) recognized by the university leadership and upon the proposal of the Ministry of Higher Education, was appointed as the dean of the Faculty of Economics according to decree (3893) of the Prime Minister’s Office, and he assumed the academic and administrative responsibilities of the faculty, on (1404/6/22), Abdul Naser Qasemi was promoted through open competition to the position of academic (teaching) manager of the faculty, and on (1403/10/17), Ebadurrahman Safi was appointed as the executive manager of the Faculty of Economics.

The Faculty of Economics has two departments: Business Administration and Finance & Banking. The head of the Business Administration Department is Pohandmal Ehsanullah Hazrati, and the head of the Finance & Banking Department is Pohanyar Asadullah Ahmadzai. So far, the faculty has graduated two cohorts. The Business Administration Department graduated 26 students in 1403 and 52 students in 1404. The Finance & Banking Department graduated 34 students in 1403 and 27 students in 1404, making a total of 139 graduates who have been introduced to society to serve.

The Faculty of Economics conducts its administrative and academic activities with the available facilities in the Engineering Faculty building, based on the needs identified by the university. It is worth mentioning that the students of this faculty are introduced to relevant sectoral departments for practical training and internship purposes, so they can complete their practical work. Upon successful completion of the practical period, each student receives a certificate from the respective organization.

Additionally, the faculty is equipped with two LCD units and two projectors, and the presence of sufficient green space around the faculty plays an effective role in enhancing students’ learning.
