Vision:

Based on Islamic, national, scientific and academic principles, the Faculty of Education, with the help of experienced staff and available modern resources, in the next (5 to 10) years, is considering the spiritual development of the country. According to the needs and demands, along with the creation of new departments at the bachelor's level, master's level programs have been started in various departments.

Mission:

With qualified and professional personnel and available facilities, the training of professional personnel at the undergraduate and master level in the four departments of the Faculty of Education and Training (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology) in order to develop the country according to the needs and demands of the society. He will fulfill his scientific and spiritual responsibility and mission in the population.

Overview:

Laghman University was established in 1389 with two faculties (literature, humanities and agriculture) based on the needs of the region. In 1392 A.H., the Faculty of Education and Training was established, which started its activity with departments of mathematics and physics, chemistry and biology. In order to organize the administrative and teaching affairs of the faculty, Professor Sharifullah Amin was appointed as the Acting President based on the position of the Honorable President of the University, and Qayamuddin Alkozai was appointed as the Teaching Director through free competition. A service worker was hired. From 20/5/1394 to 20/6/1397 Honorable Professor Shafiullah Niazi was appointed as the Acting President of the Faculty. Then on 20/6/1397, the Honorable Professor Muhammad Abrar Rahimi was appointed as the Acting Dean of the Faculty, from 03-09-1398, the Honorable Professor Muhammad Ehsan Popalzi assumed the position of the Honorable President of the University on the recommendation of the Honorable Ministry of Higher Education. And on the basis of the order of the President of the country (2152), he was appointed as the head of the Faculty of Education and the administrative and teaching responsibility of the faculty was officially handed over to Honorable Professor Mohammad Ihsan Popalzai.

The Faculty of Education is on the brink of development. In 2016, the classical system was changed to a credit system and two departments were changed to four departments (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology). Considering the needs, other departments will also be proposed to the honorable Ministry of Higher Education in coordination with the honorable directorate of the university.

All the administrative and teaching activities of the above-mentioned departments were carried forward by the acting administrators, fortunately on 08/02/2019, assistant Professor Wali Habib Hammat for the Biology Department, Professor Bakhtiar Niazi for the Chemistry Department and Professor for the Mathematics Department Abdul Baraq Ahmadzai and assistant  Prof. Pamir Momand for the Department of Physics were appointed as the heads of the above departments after the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education.

Currently, the Faculty of Education is carrying out administrative and teaching activities in the constructions of Literature and Humanities and Engineering Faculties.
