Forestry and Environmental Science Department Overview:

Vision:

The Department of Forestry and Environmental Protection, through the training of scientific personnel, should participate extensively in the reconstruction, development, agriculture and training of forests and other natural resources in a reasonable and sustainable manner and in their protection.

Mission:

Department of Forestry and Environmental Protection through training of professional and specialized personnel, reasonable use of the country's natural resources and their protection, such as forests, pastures, wild life and the increase of forest products, as well as the correct management of forests and pastures in the deserts.  Preventing expansion and maintaining the balance of the natural system so that the human society can have a safe and sustainable economy from environmental problems.

History of Department of Forestry and Environmental science

The Faculty of Agriculture was founded in 1389 along with the establishment of Laghman University, which was accompanied by the Department of Forestry and Environmental Protection in the same year.  With the approval and order of the honorable Ministry of Higher Education, two professional lecturers were hired in this department. At present, there are six professional lecturers in this department, two of whom are studying for master's degree in foreign countries.  In this department students are studying in four classes.  So far, seven distance graduates have been approved to serve for country.  Currently, with the help and efforts of the university administration, all the problems have been solved and the work of the department is going on regularly.
