Horticulture Department Overview:

History

The Department of Horticulture was established within the framework of the Faculty of Agriculture in 2011 (1390 in the solar calendar) and officially started its activities in 2012 (1391). The first batch was graduated in 2016 (1395), and up to now, the department has had nine graduating cohorts. The department currently has seven faculty members: three with Master’s degrees, one with a PhD, and three with Bachelor’s degrees.

The Department of Horticulture aims to promote professional teaching and innovative research at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, contributing to academic growth at the national and regional levels. Furthermore, through the introduction of modern technologies in horticulture and the training of specialists, the department seeks to play a constructive role in enhancing farmers’ economic empowerment, thereby contributing to the overall development of the national economy.
